Building-Integrated Wind Power System
The largest building-integrated wind power system in the U.S. is now spinning on the roof of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF), thanks to a collaboration between Venger Wind and SWG Energy.
Venger Wind installed a series of 18 vertical axis wind turbines (their own V2 model) as a part of OMRF’s sustainability strategy of producing zero-emission energy in their new research tower in Oklahoma City.
South Korean Wind Energy Market
With the reforms in place already, the growing wind power capacity in South Korea is expected to take the fast track to further expansion. To augment the rapid growth of wind energy in the country, the domestic heavy industries have taken upon themselves the onus of manufacturing the wind turbine generators that will reduce the sector’s dependence on imports and will also result in the reduction of wind energy production costs. The Feed in Tariff policy of the government has now been replaced by the Renewable Portfolio Standard.

President Obama told Associated Press in an interview Saturday that Mitt Romney’s new energy plan shows a ‘disdain for green energy.’ The President said ‘Romney will make good on his vow to end tax credits for wind power projects.’

Rise in wind power provides respite from power cuts
A sharp increase in power generation from wind mills in the State over the last three days has provided the much-needed respite from the spate of power cuts that bedevilled residents of the southern districts.
Officials of Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), Madurai Region, had blamed the nine-hour power cuts in the last week on a sudden decline in wind power. Apart from six hours in day time, people had to endure several spells of power cuts in the night hours that caused particular hardship to children and the aged.
