Public Natural Gas Fueling Station

American Natural Gas (ANG) officially breaks ground at their public natural gas fueling station in Modesto, California. This Natural Gas fueling station will be number 61 for industry leader, ANG. This fueling station will be an extension of their prominent infrastructure nationwide, enhancing ANG’s ability to create a healthier environment through alternative fuels.

This natural gas fueling station is made possible by PepsiCo in conjunction with ANG. Frito Lay, a division of PepsiCo, sets the standard for all American businesses with their first-of-its-kind Showcase for Sustainability. Frito Lay recently announced their pledge, transforming their production site into a Zero and Near Zero- Emissions Freight Facility.

“The project is a first-of-its-kind for PepsiCo and Frito-Lay and is part of California Climate Investments (CCI), a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.”

“Meeting standards for fine particle pollution, or PM2.5, is the San Joaquin Valley’s most critical air quality challenge. The San Joaquin Valley has the worst particulate matter pollution in California — and the worst in the nation for annual federal standards. The newly adopted 2018 Valley PM2.5 Plan is expected to result in significant improvement in air quality by 2024.” 

Particulate matter can be derived from a variety of sources, but primarily burning of carbon-based fuels such as gasoline and . Car and truck emissions in the San Joaquin Valley are responsible for half of the airborne particulate matter. This is where ANG comes in. Natural Gas is the cleanest form of transportation fuel in the world! By fueling with Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) sourced from local dairy farms, fleets can become carbon net negative well to wheel fueling. Innovative technologies combined with RNG make for Natural Gas fueling 120% cleaner than the cleanest diesel engine and creates a carbon net negative scenario.

ANG is honored to be part of this mission.  ANG’s Natural Gas fueling station located at 4383 Leckron Rd Modesto, CA, 95357 is scheduled for completion in January of 2020. This three-lane, fast fill, public fueling station will be equipped with the leading CNG technology. Designed and engineered by ANG’s skillful team of experts, this station will be able to sustain exceedingly fast fill times while providing a superior experience for all customers.
