Environmental Entrepreneurs: Clean Energy Still Key to Economic, Energy Future

Transformation of Nation’s System Isn’t Going to Happen Without Casualties, says E2 co-founder

WASHINGTON (September 14, 2011) – The clean industry is still growing and still holds the key to our economic and future, despite the demise of Solyndra, according to Environmental Entrepreneurs, an independent group of business leaders who advocate for good environmental policy while building economic prosperity.

“Transforming the way we make and isn’t going to happen overnight or without some casualties—especially in this economy,” said Environmental Entrepreneurs co-founder Nicole Lederer. “But overall, the clean energy economy is still growing at a faster pace than other sectors. One company’s failure doesn’t disprove that fact, nor does it discount the need for government to continue to support clean energy.

“Without government participation in the economic transformations of our past, we’d still be traveling on dirt roads, reading by candlelight and the Internet that drove our last economic boom would not exist.

“Not supporting clean energy now means we remain stuck in our dirty energy past.”
