One of the new and emerging energy solutions is biodiesel fuel for cars and equipment. This fuel that is created from natural oils is gaining wide acceptance across the coutnry, first by rabid green advocates, but more and more these days by average consumers concerned about the rising problem of oil and its implications on our economy and ecology.

Biodiesel Car Is The New Way To Drive by Daniel Roshard

In todays society, Researchers in the United States and around the world are searching for ways to develop alternate forms of fuel. With the ever-rising fuel costs, developing alternate energy is a priority. Bio diesel was developed to combat the high gas and oil prices. It is especially made for use in bio diesel cars and trucks. Bio diesel is made from all naturalfoods that produce oil. Oils such as vegetable, canola, peanut, rapeseed, palm and olive oil can be used as bio diesel fuel.

Virtually all oils that you use in your kitchen everyday can fuel one of these cars. It does not matter if the oil has been used, it can be strained and filtered and then used in the fuel tank.

Biodiesel fuel is a better for the environment because it burns cleaner and does not pollute the atmosphere. It is non-toxic and biodegradable, making it the perfect fuel.

Biodiesel fuel has been road tested and will get up to twenty-five miles to the gallon. That is better than some conventional mileage ratings.

Many car manufacturers are realizing that the bio diesel automobile is becoming more popular, and are jumping on the bandwagon and developing their own version of a biodiesel vehicle. They realize that the need for these vehicles will increase, and predict that they will be ready for the onslaught.

If you are interested in purchasing a bio diesel and do not know where to start looking, call local dealerships and ask if they offer this type of vehicle. Chances are that they either have bio diesel cars or can place a special order for you. You can also do a Google search to find a dealer that is close by. The least expensive biodiesel cars price starts at approximately $20,000 dollars. Depending on the style of car, it can range up to $60,000 dollars. The only reported differences in driving a biodiesel car is that in some cases, the mileage per gallon is greater than a conventional car.

If you want the convenience of a bio diesel car, and do not have the funds to buy one, there is always the option to buy a conversion kit. These kits allow you to convert your current vehicle into a bio diesel vehicle. The kits are relatively inexpensive compared to a new bio diesel car. They start at $600.00. Although it is recommended that you have a professional mechanic do all the necessary work, full instructions and a help line are included for the do-it-yourselfer.

A car with a diesel engine does not need to be converted into bio-diesel. However it is recommended that the hoses be replaces on any diesel car that was made before 1990. When the diesel engine was created in 1892, it was designed to run on peanut oil before diesel fuel, making it the changes unnecessary. It is however recommended that the engines of vehicles to be converted do not have rubber seals in them, as over time the oil will deteriorate the seals.

A biodiesel car is very easy to maintain. The only major problem that has been reported is that when the weather turns cold, the oil turns cloudy and in temperatures below 35 degrees, the oil can crystallize. The potential problem with this is that the crystals can plug the engine and not allow the fuel to flow properly. Special heating units are sold to keep the oil at a constant temperature.

The general public is being encouraged to purchase bio diesel vehicles. As an incentive, the government is offering special tax write offs for those who purchase bio diesel automobiles. In Hollywood, celebrities and activists who are earth conscience have made the commitment to drive biodiesel vehicles. At the moment, California has more biodiesel cars on the road than all other states combined.

Daimler Chrysler will introduce its version of the biodiesel vehicle in the 2007. The Jeep Grand Cherokee CDR will be the first biodiesel SUV to hit the market. It will run on soybean and vegetable oil, as well as grease from fast food restaurants. It is a little humorous to think that you will be able to order dinner and fill your fuel tank in the same place, but that may possible in the not too distant future.

With the growth of the biodiesel automobile, biodiesel fuel manufacturers are needed. Currently in the United States, there are sixty-five biodiesel producing plants and about eight hundred and fifty biodiesel service stations. Experts predict that a lot more will be opening over the next few years.

How Can Biodiesel Fuel Save You Money?

With the price of traditional petroleum-based fuels sky-rocketing, more and more people are turning to biodiesel as a fuel source for their diesel engines. Biodiesel is a replacement fuel that is manufactured from vegetable oils (including soy, corn and canola oils), cooking oils or animal fats.

Biodiesel Fuel Benefits Both Human Health and the Environment

There is growing interest in the development of biodiesel fuel as more and more positive benefits are found for this alternative fuel source. It's not that it's just a good alternative to our reliance on imported oil but it is also been shown to have a positive impact on our own health and the environment as a whole.

The first positive benefit for biodiesel is the fact that it can be made from renewable resources. It was first created when scientists started doing research into the possibility of using corn and soybean oils in the production of an alternative fuel source. In the process they discovered that just about any kind of vegetable or animal oil that we use to cook with today can be processed into biodiesel fuel. And the best part is it can be oil that has already been used and recycled.

Used vegetable oils along with sewage are all being used to produce biodiesel these days. During the refining of the oil a process is added that extracts all the contaminants from the raw fuel transforming it into an excellent alternative fuel source. Many people who produce biodiesel in small processors in their backyards get most of their raw materials from business such as restaurants that produce large amounts of vegetable oil waste. The benefit of creating a fuel source from waste products is such that the world as a whole is a better place.

Making Biodiesel: Why is it your Best Option?

<

div>M. Markella asked:

You have a lot of options if you want to use alternative bio-fuels to run a diesel engine. You can use only vegetable oils by making some modifications to your diesel engine, or you can use a mix of vegetable oils and other original diesel fuels like petroleum or kerosene. But the best by far option, is to convert fresh or used vegetable oils or even animal fat to biodiesel. This is your best, clean, healthy and environment-friendly option. Let's cover some of the basics of making biodiesel.

First of all, you don't have to be involved in the process of making biodiesel. You can just buy biodiesel. You can use it in any diesel engine without any modifications or conversions to the fuel system. There are thousand of biodiesel filling stations in Europe and the United States and their number increases every year. Some countries even mix their original diesel fuels with a small percentage of biodiesel.

Are Biodiesels the Solution to Our Energy Problems

In recent times biodiesels have been advertised as the answer to all of the energy problems of the United States and other developed countries. What biological resources offer is:

* Cheaper fuel
* Cleaner air
* A renewable fuel source
* A homegrown fuel alterative, allowing the United States to become free from its over-dependence on foreign oil.

What Are Biodiesel Fuels?

Biodiesel is a fuel for vehicles of all kinds such as cars, trucks, buses and other such means of transportation. The renewable fuels are actually made from fatty acid alkylesters which can be gotten from vegetable oil, soybean oil, animal fats and other products such as recycled restaurant grease. It is safe in a lot of ways and can be handled, stored and transported easily.

What Are Its Benefits

If these renewable fuels are used in its pure form it makes for a fuel that burns much more cleanly and emits a lesser number of air pollutants. biofuels also help in the reduction of dangerous emissions of different hydrocarbons, sulfates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrated aromatic hydrocarbons. It also protects from other forms of particulate matter that tend to enter the air with the use of petroleum based fuels.

Scientific researchers currently believe that carbon dioxide alone is one of the major causative factors of greenhouse gasses which are linked in turn to global warming. The use of 100% biodiesel fuels is able to reduce the effects of dangerous greenhouse gases by as much as 75%.

The environment alone isn't the sole beneficiary of the use of bioogical fuel resources. Humans also benefit from the use of biodiesels. These sorts of fuels are better for both our lungs as well as our hearts; they also smell better to burn than diesel smoke.

Who Can Use Biodiesel Fuel?

A lot of these renewable fuel sources are currently available in one form or the other today. A number of gasoline stations today offer fuel that is partly a mixture of about 80% petroleum and about 20% biodiesels. The consensus however is that a whole lot more has to be done in order to provide fuels that are completely made of naturally renewable resources to the general public.

Quite unlike most people think, most vehicles that were built after 1994 can handle biological fuels; some of them require some little modifications while others require none at all. No special fuel pumps or filling stations are necessary and fuel can actually be made rather quickly and efficiently as well.

The soybean industry has been one of the proponents of biodiesel fuel for a long time now. The strong points in favor of biodiesel fuels are the positive effects it has on the environment and the nation's economy. The recent surveys conducted by the United States Department of Energy have shown that enough food exists to make approximately 2 billion gallons of biological based fuel.

The cost of biodiesels is quite negligible and soybean oil which is the more popular ingredient for biodiesels is the most expensive at 20 cents a pound. The total costs of producing 1 gallon of fuel based on soybean oil costs just a lot less than $1.50 per gallon. By using recycled fats and grease you spend even less at a little more than a dollar per gallon to make.
