JuiceBox ’s Innovative Technology is Game Changer for ’s Solar Economics

Las Vegas, NV, USA, April 11, 2016 residents continue to seek alternative solutions for their homes that increase their use of renewable energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce their reliance on the centralized utility model, and provide daily economic returns on their investment. While recent reductions in net metering rates may appear to be a hindrance to solar adoption, innovative technology now available in will enable residential customers to retain their self-generated, renewable energy and reduce their overall dependence on the utility.

JuiceBox Energy, a privately-held Silicon Valley company committed to providing safe, reliable, intelligent, and connected , will be conducting a ribbon cutting ceremony and press conference to celebrate the first installation of its System in Nevada. The company is welcoming state and local officials, renewable energy interests groups, local and trade media, as well as new residential solar customers to learn how benefits Nevada’s solar industry. The event will be held on April 20th at 9:00 AM at a residential home located at 1385 S. Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, Nevada.

This innovative technology was installed by Bombard Renewable Energy – a division of Bombard Electric, LLC – one of the leading renewable energy installers in the U.S. with an installed base of more than 200 megawatts, encompassing residential, commercial, and utility customers.

At the ribbon cutting, JuiceBox Energy will demonstrate how its new residential energy storage technology enables Nevada’s solar customers to increase the use of self-supplied renewable energy and reduce their reliance on grid-tied energy consumption. Solar paired with the JuiceBox Energy Storage System allows homeowners to continue to install solar energy systems with reasonable payback time, while subscribing to new Time of Use (TOU) rates that will significantly reduce energy costs during off-peak hours. The system allows the homeowner to lower the number of solar panels required and is a more complete renewable energy solution than solar alone, ensuring that specific electrical loads are always powered regardless of grid availability.

Bombard Renewable Energy recently completed its first installation of the JuiceBox Energy Storage Solution that includes dual 8.6kWh JuiceBox Energy Storage Systems for 17.2kWh total capacity, and an 11kW solar array. The grid-tied installation, located in NV Energy’s territory, is designed to reduce the amount of energy drawn from the grid and increase the consumption of on-site energy produced by the solar PV panels.

“The JuiceBox Energy Storage System provides great value for new and existing solar customers, especially when considering the lower excess energy credit established with the new Net Energy Metering (NEM) regulations by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada,” said Neil Maguire, founder and CEO of JuiceBox Energy. “We are looking forward to demonstrating its value with the greater Las Vegas public at the ribbon cutting ceremony.”

The JuiceBox Energy Storage System is an intelligent, 8.6kWh lithium-ion battery system designed for safe, reliable, long lasting power management. It is designed, engineered, and manufactured by JuiceBox Energy based on their company’s years of automotive lithium ion control systems engineering. The system supports both residential and utility demand response programs. Each system delivers more than 10 years of operation or a minimum of 4,000 cycles of dedicated peak shifting, back-up power, energy efficiency, as well as enables participation in emerging interactive energy exchanges. The JuiceBox Energy Storage System is housed in an indoor/outdoor, wall-mounted UL-rated enclosure.

Customers, installers, and press interested in attending the JuiceBox Energy and Bombard Renewable Energy ribbon cutting conference should contact JuiceBox Energy.
